“ The decline in young home owners is a puzzling trend. Interest rates have steadily declined over the last 30 years. Mortgage lending has loosened. Women have ascended in the workplace and supplemented their spouse’s earnings. How in the face of all of these positive developments did home ownership among the young keep falling?

A techie’s view of the Kindle Fire

It’s not an iPad competitor or alternative. It’s not the same kind of device at all. And, whatever it is, it’s a bad version of it.

An honest and trusted adviser…

An honest and trusted adviser to King Alonso of Naples, Gonzalo (pronounced /ˈɡɒnzəloʊ/ gon-zə-loh) is one of the few characters in The Tempest who has a good heart and is described as noble. For example, when Prospero and his daughter, Miranda, were set adrift at sea, Gonzalo took pity on the two of them, supplying them not only with the food and water necessary to survive but also with those things that make life easier.[1] In addition, Gonzalo is the only character able to see Caliban for more than a demonic beast. Gonzalo first arrives on the Prospero’s island with Alonso, Ferdinand, Sebastian, Antonio, Stefano, and Trinculo during a storm whilst returning from the wedding of Alonso’s daughter. During their time on the island, Gonzalo repeatedly attempts to lighten the mood by discussing the beauty of the island.[2] An old, honest lord, he speaks cheerfully on the miracle of the reconciliation of the lords.[3]

Gonzalo is Shakespeare’s “role model” for Elizabethan society, and Shakespeare uses the character in many ways, such as to voice his own opinion.

The true measure of a man. #stevejobs

We all knew this day would come, after all death is the one thing shared by all life in the universe. But as I sit here and read through the many newspaper, blogs and magazine articles celebrating Steve Jobs’ life, I am amazed at the single minded focus on Apple’s products and how well they sold, looked, etc.

They are missing the whole point of his life and his true legacy. Steve Jobs wasn’t a genius for what he did, but how he did it. And his legacy isn’t the products that we use everyday, it’s what those products allow us to do.

His true genius, his true legacy, are the dozens if not hundreds of companies started by people inspired by him. It’s the work done by everyone on a Mac, on an iPad, on an iPhone, etc. It’s how the technology he dreamed up and perfected was so magnificently user friendly that it stopped being a tool and was an extension of it’s owners mind, body and soul.

So as we all wonder what cool gadgets  Apple will release I’m the coming years, let’s not forget that we already have what we will ever need: our dreams and the inspiration drawn from a man who dared to think different.

Here’s to the crazy ones

Here’s to the crazy ones.

  The misfits.

    The rebels.

      The troublemakers.

The round pegs in the square holes.

The ones who see things differently.

They’re not fond of rules.

And they have no respect for the status quo.

You can praise them, disagree with them, quote them,

disbelieve them, glorify or vilify them.

About the only thing you can’t do is ignore them.

      Because they change things.

They invent.    They imagine.    They heal.

They explore.    They create.    They inspire.

They push the human race forward.

Maybe they have to be crazy.

How else can you stare at an empty canvas and see a work of art?
Or sit in silence and hear a song that’s never been written?
Or gaze at a red planet and see a laboratory on wheels?

We make tools for these kinds of people.

While some see them as the crazy ones,
   we see genius.

Because the people who are crazy enough to think
they can change the world, are the ones who do.

Bye Bye Android…

The only thing holding Apple back is they are only on 2 US networks..once Apple expands to Sprint and has enough inventory to keep up with demand, Android sales will stop growing..why would you ever buy an Android phone when you can get an iPhone?
